Scope of the Report

The global Vinyl Neononanoate market size is predicted to grow from US$ 44.50 million in 2025 to US$ 63.16 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.0% from 2026 to 2032.

Vinyl neononanoate, CAS number 54423-67-5, molecular formula C11H20O2, molecular weight 184.28, commercial products are usually mixtures of isomers of neononanoic acid vinyl ester with different branched structures. This product is composed of highly branched neononanoic acid and vinyl to form an ester structure. It is a special vinyl copolymer monomer with strong hydrophobicity, which can be copolymerized with monomers such as vinyl acetate, acrylic ester, and methyl methacrylate. Its branched alkyl structure can form space protection for ester bonds in polymers, thus improving the water resistance, alkali resistance, hydrolysis resistance, UV resistance, outdoor durability and adhesion to non-polar substrates of lotion and resins. It is mainly used in interior and exterior wall coatings, wood coatings, industrial coatings, waterproof materials, building adhesives, pressure sensitive adhesives, textile adhesives, polymer modification and other fields.

Upstream raw materials: branched C8 olefins, carbon monoxide, water, neononanoic acid, tertiary carbonic acid 9, acetylene, zinc based catalysts, polymerization inhibitors, antioxidants, nitrogen, etc.

Downstream end customers: architectural coatings, industrial coatings, wood coatings, waterproofing materials, adhesives, mortar additives.

The cost of raw materials accounts for 80%; Labor costs account for 8%; The manufacturing cost accounts for 12%.

Vinyl neononanoate is a special monomer with small scale but high technical added value. Its market growth logic does not depend on the large-scale expansion of general chemicals, but on the continuous upgrading of water resistance, alkali resistance, ultraviolet resistance and long-term adhesion properties of water-based coatings, high weather resistant architectural coatings, high-performance adhesives and functional lotion. With the extension of building maintenance cycle, the improvement of exterior wall coating durability requirements and the acceleration of low volatile organic compounds formula to replace solvent based systems, the modified value of vinyl neononanoate in vinyl acetate lotion and acrylic lotion will further appear, especially suitable for high-end exterior wall paint, wood protective coating, waterproof coating, building mortar additives and moisture resistant adhesives. From the perspective of competitive landscape, this product has high requirements for the source of branched chain acid raw materials, esterification and distillation processes, impurity control, polymerization inhibition system, and batch stability. The supply system has a strong concentration in the long term.
