Overzicht
Scope of the Report
The global Carbon Steel TIG Welding Wire market size is predicted to grow from US$ 534 million in 2025 to US$ 731 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.6% from 2026 to 2032.
Carbon steel TIG welding wire is a solid filler material—based on low-carbon or carbon-manganese steel—that is fed independently into the weld pool during the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding process to form the weld metal. Argon gas is typically used for shielding during welding, and the wire itself does not function as the arc electrode. International standards primarily adhered to include AWS A5.18, ASME SFA-5.18, and ISO 636. Representative grades include ER70S-2, ER70S-3, ER70S-6, and ER70S-G. These wires are primarily used in applications such as root pass welding for oil, gas, and industrial pipelines; refinery and chemical processing units; boilers and pressure vessels; storage tanks; shipbuilding and offshore engineering; bridge and building steel structures; automotive and rail vehicles; construction and agricultural machinery; sheet metal fabrication; and industrial maintenance. They are particularly suitable for scenarios requiring controlled heat input, minimal spatter, good root bead formation, clean welds, or radiographic and ultrasonic testing. The upstream supply chain primarily includes low-carbon and carbon-manganese steel wire rods; ferro-manganese and ferro-silicon; deoxidizers (such as aluminum, titanium, and zirconium); copper-plating raw materials; pickling agents; wire-drawing lubricants; molds/dies; plastic tubing; and moisture-proof packaging. The midstream process involves molten steel composition design, wire rod rolling, pickling and descaling, multi-pass drawing, annealing, surface treatment (copper-plated or copper-free), straightening and cutting or precision coiling, chemical composition analysis, deposited metal tensile and impact testing, low-hydrogen and batch traceability management, and fixed-length packaging. The downstream sector reaches customers in industries such as pipelines, energy, shipbuilding, pressure equipment, construction, automotive, and machinery manufacturing through welding material distributors, industrial gas suppliers, and manufacturers of TIG and orbital welding equipment.

All MarketResearchReports.com strategic research reports follow a rigorous, multi-stage methodology combining AI-assisted data synthesis with expert analyst validation.
Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
On-demand reports are generated at time of purchase, incorporating the most recent available data. Static reports are republished when underlying market conditions shift by >10% from baseline assumptions. Purchasers receive update notifications for 12 months.
