Overzicht
Scope of the Report
The global DPPF market size is predicted to grow from US$ 26.22 million in 2025 to US$ 39.49 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.1% from 2026 to 2032.
DPPF, or 1,1′-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene, is a bidentate organophosphorus ligand based on a ferrocene backbone. The molecule contains two diphenylphosphino groups attached at the 1,1′ positions of ferrocene, enabling chelation to transition metals such as palladium, nickel, rhodium, ruthenium and platinum. It is widely used in homogeneous catalysis, especially in palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling, carbonylation, hydrogenation, C–C / C–N / C–O bond formation, α-arylation and related organometallic transformations.
Based on our research, DPPF is a mature and broadly available ferrocene-based bidentate diphosphine ligand. Its commercial value comes from the combination of a ferrocene backbone and two diphenylphosphino donor groups, which together provide strong chelation and stability in transition-metal catalyst systems. Unlike Buchwald monophosphine ligands such as XPhos or BrettPhos, DPPF is primarily valued for bidentate coordination and metal-complex stability. Unlike chiral diphosphine ligands such as BINAP, it is generally not purchased for enantioselective control, but for robust palladium, nickel, rhodium and ruthenium chemistry.
From the supply perspective, the DPPF market is structured around high-purity specialty chemical manufacturers, global catalog reagent brands, China-based catalyst and ligand suppliers, and regional scientific chemical distributors. Strem, TCI, Sinocompound and BLD are the stronger production or high-probability production candidates, while Sigma-Aldrich, Thermo/Fisher, Chem-Impex, Fluorochem, Aladdin, Ambeed, AK Scientific and NorrChemica provide broader procurement access.
Demand is supported by palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling, preparation of metal-dppf complexes, pharmaceutical route development, CRO/CDMO process services and academic methodology research. Because DPPF is also a precursor to widely used catalysts such as Pd(dppf)Cl₂, demand comes from both direct ligand users and catalyst manufacturers. The market is expected to remain a mature, recurring-demand niche rather than a high-growth new ligand segment. Competition will continue to depend on purity, documentation, availability, bulk pricing and supply reliability.
