Overzicht

Scope of the Report

The global High Silica Fiber market size is predicted to grow from US$ 452 million in 2025 to US$ 630 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.9% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global high silica fiber production reached approximately 21020 tons, the average price is 22 usd/kg. High silica fiber is a special type of glass fiber with high-purity silica as its main component. It is made by acid leaching of ordinary soda lime glass fiber to remove soluble oxides, followed by high-temperature sintering. It has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, low thermal conductivity, good chemical stability, and strong thermal shock resistance. It can maintain good mechanical properties in high-temperature environments and is often used in high-temperature filtration, thermal insulation lining, fireproof materials, aerospace thermal protection, and high-temperature insulation of electronic appliances.

Market Concentration and Major Players:

Internationally, the high-silica fiber market is highly concentrated, mainly in developed countries in Europe and America. Large manufacturers include Histex and JSC NPO Stekloplastik. Domestically, the high-silica fiber market still has significant room for development.

Manufacturing Process and Market Trends:

Manufacturing typically involves using sodium borosilicate glass as raw material, melting and drawing it at high temperatures to produce primary fibers or fabrics. These fibers are then immersed in acid for leaching to dissolve components such as sodium borate, enriching silica to over 96% and forming a microporous framework. After thorough washing to remove residual acid, the fibers are sintered in a kiln at 600-800 degrees Celsius to close the micropores and densify the structure. Finally, surface coating or further processing can be applied as needed to produce yarns, tapes, and other products. Driven by high-end demands such as aerospace thermal protection, fire prevention for new energy batteries, and environmental high-temperature filtration, the market is gradually breaking through foreign technical barriers and achieving large-scale domestic supply. In the future, the focus will be on optimizing green processes such as all-electric melting and waste acid regeneration to reduce costs and increase efficiency. At the same time, it will expand towards high-purity, high-strength, and multi-functional composites to adapt to more stringent heat insulation and insulation scenarios.
