Scope of the Report

The global Photovoltaic HJT Equipment market size is predicted to grow from US$ 2,693 million in 2025 to US$ 5,343 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.6% from 2026 to 2032.

Photovoltaic HJT equipment refers to the core specialized equipment used to produce N-type HJT (heterojunction) high-efficiency solar cells. This technology combines crystalline silicon and amorphous silicon thin films, offering advantages such as high conversion efficiency, high bifaciality, and low degradation. The core process requires only four steps (texturing, amorphous silicon deposition, TCO deposition, and screen printing), with the core equipment being PECVD (depositing thin films) and PVD (depositing conductive films).

The core upstream components lie in high-precision parts and raw materials, including vacuum pumps, RF power supplies, precision ceramic/graphite parts, ultra-high purity specialty gases (silane, phosphine), and silver paste (especially low-temperature silver paste). These underlying supports directly determine the stability of the equipment and the conversion efficiency of the battery.

Currently, the total equipment cost of an HJT production line is approximately US$56 million, with PECVD equipment accounting for over 50% of the value; TCO conductive film deposition equipment (PVD/RPD) accounts for over 20%; cleaning and texturing equipment accounts for slightly less than 10%; and the remainder is equipment for metallization processes such as screen printing and curing. The industry's gross profit margin is around 23-28%.

HJT equipment is a strategic fulcrum for the photovoltaic industry to further reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). Industry experts point out that HJT cells, with their naturally symmetrical structure, extremely simple process steps (requiring only four steps: cleaning and texturing, PECVD, PVD/RPD, and screen printing), and perfect compatibility with perovskite tandem technology, are regarded as the ultimate single-junction silicon cell route after TOPCon.

First, the superior performance of HJT cells in terms of bifaciality, temperature coefficient, and low-light response results in an actual power generation that is approximately 3%-6% higher than traditional technologies. This full-lifecycle power generation advantage directly drives the purchasing preference of downstream power plant investors. Second, the localization rate of equipment is approaching 100%. High-value equipment centered on PECVD has significantly reduced the investment cost per GW from hundreds of millions of yuan through economies of scale and the domestic substitution of core components, greatly lowering the entry barrier for new players.

Furthermore, with the trend of silicon wafers becoming thinner (down to 100μm or even thinner), the inherent advantages of the HJT low-temperature process make it highly competitive in preventing microcracks and improving yield, becoming a core driving force for industry transformation.
