Scope of the Report

The global Strong Cation Exchange Separation Media market size is predicted to grow from US$ 66.52 million in 2025 to US$ 133 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.4% from 2026 to 2032.

Strong cation exchange separation media are functional materials used for ion exchange chromatography separation and purification. They typically use agarose, polymers, or silica gel as a matrix, with strong acidic ligands such as sulfonic acid groups (–SO₃⁻) immobilized on their surface. These ligands can stably electrostatically bind to positively charged molecules in solution over a wide pH range. When a sample passes through the chromatographic column, positively charged proteins, peptides, or biomolecules are adsorbed by the medium, while other components are eluted and separated. Desorption and purification of the target analyte can then be achieved by changing the salt concentration or pH conditions. Due to their strong binding capacity, high stability, and good separation resolution, these media are widely used in biopharmaceuticals, antibody purification, vaccine production, and protein separation. In 2025, sales volume was 380,000 vials, with an average price of $180, total production capacity of 450,000 vials, and a gross profit margin of 87%.

Global key Strong Cation Exchange Separation Media players cover Cytiva, Merck, Fisher Scientific, Avantor, Inc., PubCompare, etc.
