Visão geral

Scope of the Report

The global Tagetes Essential Oil market size is predicted to grow from US$ 625 million in 2025 to US$ 867 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.9% from 2026 to 2032.

Global sales of Tagetes essential oil reached 6,083 tons in 2025, with an average price of US$105 per kilogram.

The health benefits of tagetes essential oil can be attributed to its properties as an antibiotic, antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, disinfectant, insecticide, and sedative substance.

Tagetes Essential Oil is made from the above-ground parts (flowers, leaves, and tender stems) of the marigold (Tagetes minuta or T. patula) during its peak flowering period. Major production areas are concentrated in India, Egypt, Argentina, and Yunnan and Jiangxi provinces in China. The yield of essential oil is only 0.5–0.8 kg per mu (approximately 0.067 hectares). The purchase price of fresh flowers is about 4–6 yuan/kg, and the raw material cost accounts for 55–60% of the ex-factory price. Processing uses steam distillation, with an oil yield of 0.2–0.35%. Subsequent steps include condensation, oil-water separation, filtration, and light-proof nitrogen-filled bottling. Energy consumption, labor, and testing account for 25–30% of the total cost. Therefore, a 10% fluctuation in flower prices can directly translate to a 6–7% increase in the essential oil price.
