Scope of the Report

The global Biometric Smart Payment Card market size is predicted to grow from US$ 114 million in 2025 to US$ 15,770 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 104.4% from 2026 to 2032.

A smart card is an identification card that uses biometric analysis to identify an individual. Smart cards come in many forms, but the most common and popular are processors with built-in memory or smart cards with memory chips. These cards interface through direct physical contact with the scanner or a remote electromagnetic interface. These cards can store large amounts of data, encrypt and digitally sign it, and link this information to remote contactless systems such as electromagnetic card readers. By using this technology, biometric cards offer greater security than traditional contactless payment methods. During transaction processing, the card compares the user"s fingerprint on the scanner with reference data stored in the card"s security chip before authorizing the payment. No personal data is kept on the bank"s servers or sent to a central database. So, in the event of a theft, customers don"t have to worry about their accounts being defrauded. It adds an extra layer of protection and keeps user account details safe. This added protection of the biometric card has no payment threshold, allowing its consumers to make high or low value transactions.
