Scope of the Report

The global Naphthenic Rubber Oil for Tire Manufacturing market size is predicted to grow from US$ 557 million in 2025 to US$ 784 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.0% from 2026 to 2032.

Naphthenic rubber oil for tire manufacturing is a mineral-based plasticizer and processing aid produced from naphthenic crude oil vacuum distillates, deasphalted oil, or suitable naphthenic base oils through processes such as solvent refining, hydrotreating, deep hydrogenation, fractionation, and viscosity blending. It is added by tire manufacturers during the internal mixing and compounding stages to systems containing natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), polybutadiene rubber (BR), and butyl rubber. Its primary functions include reducing compound Mooney viscosity and mixing energy consumption; improving the dispersion of carbon black, silica, sulfur, and other additives; enhancing processing stability during calendering and extrusion; and adjusting properties such as hardness, low-temperature flexibility, wet grip, rolling resistance, and durability. It is primarily used in the treads and sidewalls of summer, all-season, and winter passenger car tires; wear-resistant compounds for truck, bus, and off-the-road (OTR) mining tires; and in agricultural, motorcycle, and bicycle tires, as well as inner tubes and retread compounds. The upstream supply chain primarily comprises naphthenic crude oil, vacuum distillates, deasphalted oil, hydrogen, hydrogenation catalysts, extraction solvents, and energy. The midstream sector involves atmospheric and vacuum distillation, solvent extraction, dewaxing, high-pressure hydrogenation, fractionation, viscosity blending, low-PAH control, tank farm management, bulk or drum packaging, and batch quality testing. The downstream sector connects first to tire manufacturing groups and specialized tire plants, extending further to the OEM markets for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and two-wheelers, as well as the tire replacement market.
