Scope of the Report
The global Nuclear Grade Flexible Graphite Sheet market size is predicted to grow from US$ 62.20 million in 2025 to US$ 91.42 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.7% from 2026 to 2032.
Nuclear-grade flexible graphite sheet is a high-purity flexible graphite product—available as sheets, rolls, or reinforced boards—manufactured from high-purity natural flake graphite through processes such as chemical intercalation, expansion, and calendering; it is primarily used to fabricate seals for nuclear power equipment. Compared to standard industrial-grade flexible graphite, nuclear-grade products emphasize high carbon content and low levels of ash, sulfur, chlorine, fluorine, and halogens, alongside batch traceability and strict chemical composition control, all aimed at minimizing the risk of corrosion to stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, and nuclear-grade valve and pump components.
Upstream raw materials primarily include high-purity natural flake graphite, intercalating agents, oxidizing agents, pickling reagents, deionized water, cleaning aids, and anti-oxidation or corrosion-inhibiting agents, as well as reinforcement materials such as stainless steel foil, perforated stainless steel plates, and nickel foil. Nuclear-grade products impose stricter requirements regarding the purity of the raw graphite and the control of impurities—such as ash, sulfur, chlorine, fluorine, sodium, calcium, and iron—and the processes of pickling, expansion, calendering, reinforcement lamination, and cutting must be conducted to avoid contamination by halogens, sulfur, and metals.
In 2025, global sales volume is approximately 1,550 metric tons, the global average price is around $39/kg, and the gross profit margin for major industry manufacturers ranges from approximately 32% to 48%.
