Visão geral

Scope of the Report

The global Electronic Grade Methanol market size is predicted to grow from US$ 25.4 million in 2025 to US$ 40.16 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.8% from 2026 to 2032.

Electronic Grade Methanol, also known as ultrapure methanol or ultraclean high-purity methanol, typically has a purity exceeding 99.9%. It is used in wet chemical electronics products and is often classified in China as a solvent for general chemicals in ultraclean high-purity reagents (sometimes also called ultra-high-purity reagents). It is used in cleaning, photolithography, development, etching, and doping processes for electronic component microfabrication. Methanol is particularly used in cleaning.

Electronic-grade methanol has similar applications to anhydrous ethanol and isopropyl alcohol.

Ultraclean high-purity reagents can be divided into five categories, from G1 to G5, based on their purity. Domestically, electronic-grade methanol is typically available in two types: G1 and G2.

In 2024, global Electronic Grade Methanol production reached approximately 7534 tons, with an average global market price of around US$ 3.06 per kg.

There are relatively large differences in the gross profit margins of products among different manufacturers in this industry, but most of them are concentrated in the range of 20%-30%.

Global Electronic Grade Methanol core manufacturers include Dongwoo Fine-Chem, Shinko Organic Chemical, Honeywell, Jiangyin Jianghua, Xilong Scientific, Jingrui and Runma Chemical, etc. The top three vendors account for about 60% of the global market. China is the largest market with about 36 percent share, followed by South Korea and Japan with 26 percent and 18 percent, respectively. In terms of product type, UL(G2) is the largest segment with approximately 65% share, while in terms of downstream, semiconductors and electronics are the largest downstream segment with 95% share.

Development Trends

1. Production Technology Requires Time to Accumulate

Wet chemical electronic product production technology is highly complex, and its development requires time and effort. Currently, domestic technology can achieve G2 and G3 levels for most wet chemical products, with some even exceeding G4.

2. Products are primarily G2-level

Although domestic technology currently allows methanol products to reach G2 levels, there are currently no commercially available G3 products.
