Visão geral

Scope of the Report

The global Automotive Paper-Based Wet Friction Material market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,474 million in 2025 to US$ 1,831 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.2% from 2026 to 2032.

Automotive paper-based wet friction material is a porous composite friction material made from cellulose fibers, aramid fibers, mineral fibers, resins, elastomers, graphite, friction modifiers and fillers through papermaking, impregnation, curing, bonding, hot pressing and precision finishing. It is typically bonded to a steel core plate to form wet friction plates that operate in ATF or dedicated lubricating oil against separator or reaction plates. Its main functions are torque transfer, clutch engagement, slip control and heat absorption in AT, CVT, wet DCT, DHT/HEV hybrid clutches, torque-converter lock-up clutches and AWD couplings. Upstream inputs include fibers, phenolic resins, friction modifiers, graphite, steel plates, adhesives and transmission-fluid systems; downstream users include OEMs, transmission makers, wet clutch-pack suppliers and aftermarket rebuild channels.

In 2025, global automotive paper-based wet friction material production reached approximately 1.4 billion units, with an average global market price is $1.05 per unit.

Global key Automotive Paper-Based Wet Friction Material players cover Dynax, BorgWarner, Aisin Corporation, F.C.C., Miba AG, etc.
