Visão geral

Scope of the Report

The global Surface Permanent Magnet Motors market size is predicted to grow from US$ 12,336 million in 2025 to US$ 22,223 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.8% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global Surface Permanent Magnet Motor output reached about 360 million units and global capacity of around 400 million units. The average price is about USD 35 per unit, with gross margins near 31%. Surface Permanent Magnet Motors are a type of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) in which permanent magnets are mounted directly on the outer surface of the rotor rather than embedded inside it. This design provides a simple rotor structure, high power density, excellent efficiency, fast dynamic response, and precise speed control, making SPM motors widely used in electric vehicles, industrial automation, robotics, HVAC systems, machine tools, pumps, compressors, drones, and household appliances. The supply chain begins upstream with raw materials such as rare-earth permanent magnets (primarily neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) and samarium-cobalt), electrical steel laminations, copper winding wire, aluminum housings, bearings, shafts, insulation materials, and power semiconductor devices. Midstream manufacturers design and produce motor components, including stators, rotors, magnet assemblies, encoders, and motor drives, then assemble complete SPM motor systems. Downstream, these motors are integrated into electric drivetrains, industrial machinery, servo systems, renewable energy equipment, aerospace systems, and consumer products, with performance increasingly enhanced through advanced motor control algorithms, high-efficiency inverters, and high-temperature magnetic materials.

Global key Surface Permanent Magnet Motors players cover Nidec Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric, Yaskawa Electric, Fuji Electric, ABB Group, etc.
