Scope of the Report

Semiconductor saturable absorber is a semiconductor material that exhibits special saturation absorption characteristics in optics. It is commonly used in laser technology as a component for generating ultra short pulse lasers or regulating optical pulses. The working principle of semiconductor saturable absorbers is based on their nonlinear optical properties. Under low light intensity, semiconductor saturable absorbers exhibit high absorption characteristics and can absorb most of the energy emitted. However, when the light intensity increases to a certain extent, the absorption characteristics of semiconductor saturable absorbers will change, leading to a decrease in absorption rate and an increase in transmittance. This characteristic can be used to generate ultra short pulse lasers. When a semiconductor saturable absorber is in a high absorption state, light pulses passing through it will be absorbed, forming a state with lower light intensity. But as the energy of the light pulse increases, the absorption capacity of the semiconductor saturable absorber decreases, leading to the transmission of the light pulse and the enhancement of the light intensity. By precisely controlling the energy of optical pulses and the characteristics of semiconductor saturable absorbers, ultra short laser pulses can be generated. Semiconductor saturable absorber is often used in mode locked lasers, modulated Pulsed laser, ultrafast laser systems and other applications. It can provide peak power, narrow pulse width, and stable pulse output, and has important application value. Different types of semiconductor materials with saturable absorbers include germanium, gallium arsenide, germanium arsenide, etc. The specific selection depends on factors such as application requirements and working wavelength.

Global key Semiconductor Saturable Absorber players cover Hamamatsu Photonics, Thorlabs, Newport Corporation, Edmund Optics, Jenoptik AG, etc.
