概述
Scope of the Report
The global LSR 2K Injection Molding Services market size is predicted to grow from US$ 389 million in 2025 to US$ 606 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.4% from 2026 to 2032.
LSR 2K Injection Molding Services refer to specialized contract manufacturing and development services in which liquid silicone rubber is used as at least one independently processed molding component and is combined with a thermoplastic, another LSR formulation, or another compatible material through an integrated two-shot or multi-component injection molding process. Typical production systems use two injection units together with rotary, indexing, transfer, or multi-station tooling and automated handling to form fully bonded hard-soft or soft-soft components within a coordinated manufacturing cycle. In industry terminology, the process may also be described as 2-shot molding, 2C LSR molding, multi-component injection molding, co-injection, or related multishot LSR processing.
Medical devices and life sciences are among the highest-value demand drivers for 2K LSR services because these applications place simultaneous requirements on sealing performance, flexibility, cleanliness, dimensional accuracy, biocompatibility, and rigid structural support. Multi-component molding can integrate those functions into a single component, reducing separate seals and assembly interfaces; Trelleborg notes that such molding can reduce component count and assembly requirements while improving hygienic design. Automotive and e-mobility applications provide a second structural growth pillar through connector seals, electrical interfaces, sensors, electronic modules, and other components that combine rigid carriers with flexible sealing or insulating zones. Materials technology is also improving the economics of these designs. WACKER, for example, offers primerless, self-bonding LSR grades that adhere to thermoplastics such as PA and PBT and are specifically suited to thermoplastic/elastomer comolding; related grades are increasingly used in automotive cable and connector sealing. The competitive frontier is therefore moving beyond whether a supplier can technically mold two materials together. Future differentiation will increasingly depend on reducing cycle time, avoiding primer and secondary treatment, maintaining adhesion across complex geometries, minimizing scrap, integrating automated inspection, and meeting increasingly demanding medical or automotive quality systems. This shift favors suppliers with integrated material, tooling, process-development, and automation capabilities and should support continued above-average growth for sophisticated 2K LSR manufacturing even as conventional LSR injection molding remains a more mature market.
Recent corporate activity indicates that advanced silicone processing is becoming more global, more consolidated, and more closely integrated with medical and high-performance contract manufacturing platforms. Trelleborg’s acquisition of Baron Group added a major precision-silicone platform and expanded its presence in Asia-Pacific, while the company has emphasized the additional tooling expertise and regional manufacturing flexibility obtained through the transaction. Freudenberg Medical opened a second manufacturing facility in Costa Rica in September 2025 following a USD 25 million investment, substantially expanding its footprint in a major MedTech near-shoring location. In June 2026, PROGRESS Silicones acquired Italy-based Top Tech Silicone to strengthen its LSR processing capabilities and European industrial footprint, while Kimball Electronics completed its acquisition of Helvoet Polymer Technologies on July 1, 2026, adding a European high-precision polymer and elastomer medical CDMO platform. These transactions suggest that future competition will increasingly center on platform capabilities—tooling, engineering, regulated production, global customer transfers, automation, and regional supply resilience—rather than on molding capacity alone. At the same time, China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia are expanding their roles in specialized 2K LSR production, creating greater geographic diversification of supply.
