概述

Scope of the Report

The global Acetochlor Selective Pre-Emergence Herbicide market size is predicted to grow from US$ 796 million in 2025 to US$ 1,061 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.2% from 2026 to 2032.

Acetochlor Selective Pre-Emergence Herbicide is a selective, soil-applied herbicide belonging to the chloroacetamide class (HRAC/WSSA Group 15). It functions by inhibiting the synthesis of very-long-chain fatty acids in germinating weeds, thereby preventing the normal growth of shoots and roots. It is primarily applied via soil sealing—either mixed into the soil before sowing, applied after sowing but before crop emergence, or applied early post-emergence. It provides effective residual control of annual grass weeds and certain small-seeded broadleaf weeds, though its efficacy against already emerged weeds is limited. Key applications include corn, soybeans, cotton, peanuts, potatoes, sugarcane, sorghum, and forestry plantations. The upstream supply chain involves raw materials such as 2-methyl-6-ethylaniline, formaldehyde (or paraformaldehyde), chloroacetyl chloride, ethanol, caustic soda, catalysts, aromatic hydrocarbons or eco-friendly solvents, emulsifiers, dispersants, capsule wall materials, and safeners (e.g., furilazole). The midstream sector encompasses technical-grade active ingredient (TC) synthesis and refining, formulation development, compounding/processing, quality control, toxicological and environmental testing, product registration, and packaging/filling. The downstream sector reaches the market for corn, soybean, sugarcane, and other crops through multinational agrochemical companies, regional brand owners, importers, agricultural input distributors, agricultural cooperatives, and large-scale planting groups.
