概述

Scope of the Report

The global Super Engineering Plastic market size is predicted to grow from US$ 15,220 million in 2025 to US$ 22,340 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.7% from 2026 to 2032.

Plastics basically fall into two categories: thermosetting resin and thermoplastic resin. Thermoplastic resin is further classified into general purpose plastics and engineering plastics. Engineering plastics are classified as thermoplastic resin that can withstand heat of over 100˚C. Even more heat-resistant thermoplastic resins able to be used for a long period in heat of over 150˚C are called “super engineering plastics." Super engineering plastics are at the highest end of the spectrum, generally with very high strength and thermal resistance. They are used in high temperature, high stress applications, in harsh environments, and low to medium volume production.

The core manufacturers of Super Engineering Plastic are DuPont, SABIC, Sumitomo Chemical and Toray, and the top four manufacturers together have a market share of more than 46%. China is the largest market for Super Engineering Plastic, with a market share of about 28 percent, followed by the United States and Canada, which together have a market share of more than 27 percent. In terms of product type, Polyimide (PI) has the largest market share of around 66%. In terms of applications, Automotive is the largest downstream market, with a market share of around 26%.
