概述

Scope of the Report

The global Co-extruded Composite WPC Decking market size is predicted to grow from US$ 540 million in 2025 to US$ 1,056 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.1% from 2026 to 2032.

Co-extruded Composite WPC Decking refers to a type of outdoor decking material made from wood plastic composite materials and produced through a co-extrusion process. The product generally consists of a WPC core layer and a protective outer cap layer. The core layer is mainly made from wood flour, bamboo powder, recycled polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, mineral fillers and processing additives, while the surface cap layer is usually made from weather-resistant polymers such as PE, PVC, ASA or modified plastic materials. Through co-extrusion technology, the inner core and outer surface layer are formed and bonded together during one continuous extrusion process, creating a stable protective structure on the surface of the decking board.

Compared with traditional wood decking and ordinary uncapped WPC decking, co-extruded composite WPC decking has stronger resistance to moisture, UV radiation, stains, scratches, mildew and color fading. Its main raw materials include wood powder, recycled plastics, plastic resin, color masterbatch, coupling agents, lubricants, stabilizers, antioxidants, UV absorbers and surface modifiers. The product is mainly used in outdoor flooring applications such as residential terraces, gardens, balconies, poolside areas, parks, boardwalks, hotels, resorts and commercial landscape projects. Downstream customers mainly include homeowners, real estate developers, construction contractors, landscape companies, building material distributors and outdoor decoration companies. Because it combines the natural appearance of wood with the durability of plastic, it is widely used as a substitute for natural timber decking, anti-corrosion wood and traditional composite decking.

In 2025, global Co-extruded Composite WPC Decking production reached approximately 14.8 million square meters, with an average market price of around US$37.29 per square meter.

The Co-extruded Composite WPC Decking market is developing steadily as outdoor flooring materials continue to move toward durable, low-maintenance and environmentally friendly composite products. In residential and commercial outdoor spaces, customers increasingly prefer materials that can withstand sunlight, rain, humidity and temperature changes while maintaining stable appearance over time. Traditional wood decking often requires regular painting, sealing, anti-corrosion treatment and repair, while co-extruded composite WPC decking can reduce these maintenance requirements through its protective cap layer. This makes the product more attractive for long-term outdoor use.

One of the major trends in the industry is the upgrade from ordinary WPC decking to capped co-extruded WPC decking. Manufacturers are improving surface embossing, wood grain texture, color stability, anti-slip performance and scratch resistance to make the product closer to natural wood in appearance while retaining the advantages of composite materials. Product structures are also becoming more diversified, including solid boards, hollow boards, grooved boards, hidden fastener systems and multi-color co-extruded surfaces. In mid- and high-end markets, customers are paying more attention to durability, design style, safety and life-cycle cost rather than only initial purchase price.

From a regional perspective, North America is a mature market supported by outdoor living culture, residential renovation and replacement demand for old wooden decks. Europe has stable demand due to its focus on sustainable building materials, recyclable products and alternatives to tropical hardwood and anti-corrosion wood. Asia-Pacific is both a major production base and a fast-growing consumption region. China has strong manufacturing and export capabilities, while Southeast Asia, Australia and other markets are seeing growing demand from residential construction, tourism facilities and landscape projects. The Middle East and Latin America are also increasing adoption in hotels, resorts, waterfront projects and commercial outdoor spaces.

Market growth is driven by several factors. First, the expansion of outdoor leisure spaces is increasing demand for terraces, gardens, balconies and poolside flooring. Second, residential renovation and commercial landscape projects are creating continuous replacement demand. Third, rising labor costs make low-maintenance materials more economical over the full product life cycle. Fourth, environmental awareness supports the use of recycled plastics, wood powder and bamboo powder, which aligns with green building material trends. In addition, improvements in extrusion equipment, cap layer materials, color processing, installation systems and brand distribution channels are helping improve product quality and market acceptance. Although the industry faces challenges such as resin price fluctuations, uneven supplier quality and competition from natural wood, stone, ceramic tiles and PVC decking, the long-term demand outlook remains positive.
