概述

Scope of the Report

The global Titanium Clad Steel Plate market size is predicted to grow from US$ 858 million in 2025 to US$ 1,155 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.4% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global titanium clad steel plate production reached approximately 49 kilotons, the average price is 18000 usd/ton. A titanium clad steel plate refers to a composite material composed of a layer of titanium bonded to a layer of steel. It is created through a process known as explosive welding or explosion bonding.

Market Concentration and Major Players:

Internationally, the titanium composite steel plate market is highly concentrated, mainly in developed countries such as Europe and the United States. Large manufacturers include JFE Steel and USTi. Domestically, however, there is still significant room for development in the titanium composite steel plate market.

Manufacturing Process and Market Trends:

The core of titanium composite steel plate manufacturing is achieving a stable metallurgical bond between the titanium cladding and the steel base layer without burning brittle intermetallic compounds at the interface. The mainstream manufacturing processes fall into two categories: one is explosive welding, which uses precise explosive gaps and detonation velocities to propel titanium at high speed against the steel, instantly tearing away the surface oxide film at the impact point with a metal jet, achieving a corrugated bond; the other is hot rolling, where the cladding and base layers are first surface-treated and assembled, then heated under vacuum or a protective atmosphere with edge sealing before being rolled under high pressure to achieve a large-area bond. Often, explosive forming followed by hot rolling is used to balance bond reliability and dimensional accuracy. Subsequent annealing eliminates residual stress, and ultrasonic scanning verifies the interface bonding quality.

Global demand is being driven by the chemical, petrochemical, marine engineering, seawater desalination, and increasingly harsh corrosive conditions. However, buyers are increasingly shifting their acceptance criteria from "the ability to produce sheets" to "auditable process windows, traceable material certificates, and long-term interface stability." As a result, the focus of production capacity is gradually shifting towards vacuum hot rolling, which can produce large-format, thin, multi-layered sheets with less reliance on on-site explosions, and more controllable interface engineering. Environmental safety and community constraints will also continue to filter out inefficient and explosive production capacity. What truly differentiates us is a large-scale consistency certification system and delivery reliability, rather than impressive single-sheet parameters.
