概述

Scope of the Report

The global Sack Kraft Papers market size is predicted to grow from US$ 6,041 million in 2025 to US$ 7,819 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.7% from 2026 to 2032.

Sack kraft paper is a high-strength kraft-based packaging paper primarily made from softwood kraft pulp, hardwood pulp, virgin sulphate pulp, recycled fibre or selected mixed fibre furnish. It is produced on paper machines and engineered through drying, finishing and, where required, extensible treatment to provide high tensile strength, tear resistance, burst strength, porosity, elongation, TEA performance and high-speed sack-converting runnability. The product is generally supplied in reels, commonly within the 60–120 gsm basis-weight range, and is used as base paper for valve sacks, open-mouth sacks, multiwall sacks, form-fill-seal bags and heavy-duty industrial paper sacks. Key applications include cement, dry mortar, construction materials, chemicals, minerals, flour, sugar, animal feed, fertilizer, seeds, pet food and agricultural commodities.

In 2025, global sack kraft paper production reached approximately 6.5 million tons, with an average global market price is $950 per ton.

Global sack kraft paper is a high-strength packaging paper used for industrial sacks, valve sacks, open-mouth bags and multiwall paper sacks. It mainly serves cement, building materials, chemical powders, minerals, flour, sugar, salt, animal feed, seeds, pet food and selected food-ingredient packaging. Compared with ordinary kraft packaging paper, sack kraft paper places much greater emphasis on tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance, porosity, drop resistance and high-speed bag converting and filling performance. It must withstand mechanical stress during powder or granular-product filling, stacking, transport and handling, while also supporting printing, valve sealing, moisture-barrier lamination and food-contact requirements where needed. Industry product ranges commonly include flat sack kraft paper, semi-extensible grades, fully extensible grades, high-porosity grades and wet-strength grades, with different grades serving different filling speeds, load requirements and end-use sectors.

In terms of industry trends, sack kraft paper is moving toward higher strength at lower grammage, higher extensibility, higher porosity, recyclability, food-contact suitability, one-ply structures and lower-plastic heavy-duty packaging. Traditional heavy-duty paper sacks often relied on multi-ply structures to provide strength, but improvements in fiber selection, pulping, refining and paper-machine control are enabling some applications to reduce ply count or grammage while maintaining performance. For cement, building materials and powdered chemicals, high porosity and strong drop resistance are critical because sacks must release air quickly during high-speed filling while reducing dust leakage and bag breakage. For food, feed and pet food applications, cleanliness, food-contact suitability, print quality and moisture-barrier compatibility are more important. Sack kraft paper is also increasingly positioned as a renewable and recyclable alternative to plastic packaging, with product materials highlighting its renewability, recyclability, biodegradability and suitability for demanding handling and transport conditions.

The main growth drivers come from three areas. First, global flows of building materials, chemicals, grains, feed and food ingredients continue to require reliable packaging for powders and granules, supporting demand for high-strength, high-porosity and handling-resistant sack kraft paper. Second, brands and packaging converters are reducing plastic use, pushing paper-based heavy-duty packaging toward recyclable, printable, laminatable and functional packaging structures. Third, environmental regulation and circular-economy requirements strengthen the long-term position of paper-based materials; Europe's paper recycling rate reached 75.1% in 2024, while paper packaging reached 83.1%, showing a strong recycling foundation for paper packaging in mature systems. Overall, sack kraft paper should not be viewed simply as a thicker kraft paper; it is a heavy-duty paper-based packaging material engineered around strength, elongation, porosity, filling efficiency, drop safety, food safety and recyclability.
