概述

Scope of the Report

The global Vinyl Chloride market size is predicted to grow from US$ 37,663 million in 2025 to US$ 51,747 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.7% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, global Vinyl Chloride output reached about 55 million tons and global capacity of around 60 million tons. The average price is about USD 700 per ton, with gross margins near 20%. Vinyl Chloride is a colorless, highly flammable organochlorine compound primarily used as the essential monomer for manufacturing polyvinyl chloride (PVC), one of the world's most widely used thermoplastic polymers. Industrial production of vinyl chloride mainly involves the chlorination and oxychlorination of ethylene to produce ethylene dichloride (EDC), followed by thermal cracking (pyrolysis) of EDC to generate vinyl chloride monomer, with hydrogen chloride recycled back into the oxychlorination process for improved efficiency. The upstream supply chain includes crude oil and natural gas feedstocks, ethylene, chlorine, oxygen, catalysts, process chemicals, and energy utilities, together with petrochemical production equipment and environmental control systems. Midstream activities encompass EDC synthesis, VCM production, purification, liquefaction, storage, transportation, and strict safety and quality control due to the material's toxicity and carcinogenicity. Downstream demand is dominated by PVC resin manufacturers serving construction materials, pipes and fittings, wire and cable insulation, window profiles, flooring, packaging, automotive components, medical devices, consumer goods, and industrial applications.

Global key Vinyl Chloride players cover Olin Corporation, Occidental Chemical, Westlake Corporation, Formosa Plastics, Shin-Etsu Chemical, etc.
