概述
Scope of the Report
The global Alkali-Resistant Glass Fiber Yarn market size is predicted to grow from US$ 296 million in 2025 to US$ 412 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.9% from 2026 to 2032.
Alkali-resistant glass fiber yarn is a continuous glass fiber yarn product made from alkali-resistant glass with a high zirconium (ZrO₂) content as raw material, through processes such as high-temperature melting, drawing, impregnation with sizing agents, and twisting. Its most significant characteristic is its excellent corrosion resistance in strongly alkaline environments, enabling it to resist the erosion of cement, hydration products, and other alkaline media for extended periods, thus maintaining high mechanical strength and durability.
The upstream of the industry chain mainly includes mineral raw materials such as quartz sand, pyrophyllite, limestone, dolomite, zirconium oxide (ZrO₂), and borax, as well as suppliers of impregnating agents, coupling agents, and glass fiber drawing equipment. The midstream consists of alkali-resistant glass fiber yarn manufacturers, who produce high-zirconium-content alkali-resistant glass fiber yarn, jet yarn, direct untwisted roving, and chopped strand yarn through processes such as batching and melting, spinneret drawing, impregnating agent coating, bundling, plying, and twisting. The downstream applications are mainly in glass fiber reinforced cement (GRC/GFRC), building curtain walls, waterproofing materials, exterior insulation systems (EIFS), industrial corrosion protection, and various cement-based composite materials.
In 2025, global sales of alkali-resistant glass fiber yarn reached 125,000 tons, with a production capacity of approximately 178,000 tons, an average selling price of US$2.42/kg, and an average gross profit margin of 40%-50%.
Global policies promoting green building, energy-efficient building, and low-carbon building materials continue to drive the development of the alkali-resistant fiberglass industry. China, Europe, and the Middle East all encourage the use of lightweight and sustainable building materials, boosting the market for GRC curtain walls and prefabricated building components. Meanwhile, policies promoting prefabricated buildings and investments in infrastructure upgrades further increase demand for alkali-resistant fiberglass.

Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
