概述

Scope of the Report

The global R-407 Refrigerant market size is predicted to grow from US$ 3,944 million in 2025 to US$ 4,911 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.2% from 2026 to 2032.

In 2025, the global production of R-407 Refrigerant reached approximately 440,000 tons, with an average global market price of around US$4,000–15,000 per ton. In the same year, the global total production capacity of R-407 Refrigerant reached 560,000 tons. The industry average gross profit margin of this product reached 38%.R-407 refrigerant is a non-azeotropic mixture of refrigerants based on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), typically represented by R-407C (a mixture of R32, R125, and R134a in a certain proportion). It is mainly used to replace traditional chlorine-containing refrigerants (such as R22) to meet environmental protection requirements. It possesses zero ozone depletion potential (ODP=0) and thermodynamic properties close to those of R22, and is widely used in air conditioning systems, commercial refrigeration equipment, and some heat pump systems. However, due to its still relatively high global warming potential (GWP), it is facing a gradual replacement by low-GWP refrigerants.

The upstream of the R-407 refrigerant industry chain mainly includes the production of fluorochemical raw materials, basic chemicals, and single-component refrigerants. The core barriers to entry lie in fluorochemical synthesis and proportion control. The midstream comprises refrigerant blending, filling, and brand sales companies, involving formula optimization, purity control, and packaging systems, as well as refrigerant recycling and regeneration companies. The downstream is widely used in residential air conditioners, commercial air conditioners, industrial refrigeration equipment, and heat pump systems, extending to the after-sales service market and refrigeration system integrators. Overall, it presents an integrated structure of "raw material chemistry—refrigerant manufacturing—equipment application—after-sales service."

The R-407 refrigerant industry is expected to maintain a stable market share while gradually replacing existing stock. On the one hand, R-407C, as a substitute for R22, will continue to have stable demand in a large number of existing air conditioners and commercial refrigeration equipment, especially in developing countries and the maintenance market. On the other hand, as global climate policies become stricter and low-GWP refrigerants are promoted more rapidly, the application of R-407 in new equipment will continue to decline, and the industry will gradually enter a mature or even contractionary phase. However, in the next 5–10 years, after-sales maintenance and replacement demand will still provide important support, presenting a structural opportunity of "front-end contraction and back-end stability".
