概述

Scope of the Report

The global Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) market size is predicted to grow from US$ 259 million in 2025 to US$ 579 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12.6% from 2026 to 2032.

Synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) is a motor based on the principle of synchronous motor. There are no permanent magnets or excitation coils on its rotor, only some air gaps made of reluctance material. When the stator of the motor is energized, a rotating magnetic field is generated on the stator, and this rotating magnetic field generates a rotational torque with the air gap on the rotor, thereby driving the rotor of the motor to rotate. In 2025, global Synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) production reached approximately 114.06 K Units. For pure SynRM (magnet-free rotor), the most critical upstream materials are NOES electrical steel (laminations), copper magnet wire (stator winding), and insulation systems (Nomex papers, impregnation resins/varnishes). Synchronous Reluctance Motors (SynRM) are primarily used in variable-speed, energy-efficient industrial applications. Demand is strongly concentrated in pumps, fans, and compressors—typical variable-torque loads across process industries such as chemicals, water treatment, metals, pulp & paper, and food & beverage. In discrete industries, SynRM is applied in conveyors, packaging machinery, and auxiliary drives for automated production lines. With increasing electrification and efficiency requirements, PM-assisted SynRM is also gaining traction in rail, construction machinery, and selected transportation applications, although volumes remain relatively limited.

The Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) market is gaining momentum as a high-efficiency, magnet-free motor technology aligned with global industrial energy-efficiency upgrades. Market growth is primarily driven by tightening IE4–IE5 efficiency regulations, large-scale motor system retrofits, and increasing penetration of variable frequency drives (VFDs). SynRM adoption is strongly concentrated in pumps, fans, and compressors within process industries, with motor–drive packages becoming the dominant commercial model. While challenges remain in power factor performance, system complexity, and market awareness, the absence of permanent magnets and favorable total cost of ownership support a steady medium- to long-term growth outlook for the SynRM market.
