For fiscal 2019, total demand for commercial vehicles is forecast at 8,55,400 units, a decline of 4.58% from the previous fiscal year. The anticipated slowdown in 2019 demand is due to the enforcement of new emissions regulations; reduced demand in the construction sector; severe shortage of drivers, and low demand in corporate replacement.

Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota, Aichi, Japan. The company was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937. As of September 2018, Toyota was considered to be the sixth-largest company in the world by revenue. The Company's segments include Automotive, Financial Services and All Other. Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational corporation incorporated in 1920. It has its headquartered in Minami-ku, Hamamatsu. Suzuki manufactures a line of automobiles which includes, Automobiles, Motorcycles, Outboard Motors, Motorized Wheelchairs, Electro Senior Vehicles, etc. In 2016, Suzuki was the eleventh biggest automaker by production worldwide. Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer which is headquartered in Nishi-ku, Yokohama. The total demand for medium and heavy-duty trucks increased to 91.5 thousand units by 0.3thousand units ( 0.4%) compared to the previous year, while the total demand for light-duty trucks increased to 109.2 thousand units by 5.1thousand units ( 4.9%) compared to the previous year. The total domestic sales volume of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and buses increased to 72.2 thousand units by 4.7 thousand units (6.9%) from the previous fiscal year.

As for overseas markets, the sales volume in Asia, mainly Indonesia, which is the major target market, increased. Accordingly, the sales volume of trucks and buses outside Japan for this consolidated fiscal year increased to 132.0 thousand units by 15.5 thousand units (13.3%) from the previous fiscal year. As a result of the above, total unit sales of Hino Brand trucks and buses increased to 204.2 thousand units, a record high, by 20.1 thousand units (10.9%) from the previous fiscal year. As for the volume of sales to Toyota Motor Corporation, because the sales of SUV and light-duty truck increased, total sales volume increased to 152.7 thousand units by 2.4 thousand units (1.6%) from the previous fiscal year.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. In 2011, Mitsubishi Motors was the sixth-biggest Japanese automaker and the nineteenth-biggest worldwide by production. From October 2016 onwards, Mitsubishi has been one-third (34%) owned by Nissan, and thus a part of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance. Main products of Mitsubishi are passengers cars, economy cars and commercial vehicles. In 2017, Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi sold more than 10.6 million vehicles and became the number one automotive group for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. 
 
Besides being part of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance, it is also a part of Mitsubishi keiretsu, formerly the biggest industrial group in Japan, and the company was originally formed in 1970 from the automotive division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, which builds commercial grade trucks, buses and heavy construction equipment, was formerly a part of Mitsubishi Motors, but is now separate from Mitsubishi Motors, and is owned by the German automotive corporation Daimler AG (though Mitsubishi continues to own a small stake). For FY 2018 the revenue for Mitsubishi from Japan market was expected to be around Yen 400 billion and the company is expected to sell around 105,000 vehicles in Japan.
