Overview

Scope of the Report

0BB (no main grid) technology has spawned a new category of adhesive films, increasing the value of adhesive films and raising the technical barriers of the industry. For solar cells, the thinner the grid lines, the more conducive it is to reducing the amount of silver paste used, thereby reducing costs, while reducing shading to solar cells and improving power generation efficiency. Under the demand for cost reduction and efficiency improvement of components, the grid line process has developed rapidly in recent years, and the diameters of grid lines and welding strips have become thinner and thinner. At present, the market research and development direction is advancing towards 0BB (no main grid) technology, that is, using copper wire welding strips to replace the original silver main grid to directly collect fine grid currents and realize interconnection between solar cells. The names of 0BB adhesive films on the current market seem to be rich in variety, such as integrated films, skin films, and carrier films, but from the perspective of their main functions, they can basically be summarized into two types: 1) Adhesive film: plays the role of bonding solar cells and glass; 2) Carrier film: plays the role of connecting or carrying welding strips. 1) Adhesive film: basically the same as the conventional encapsulation film system, it requires low viscosity, good fluidity, and good adhesion to glass. EVA films with price advantages, fast cross-linking rate, and good molding effect are often used. According to the summary of 0BB film patents of various companies, the adhesive film is generally thicker, at the level of hundreds of microns, and the initial bonding force formed with the glass is about 150N/cm. 2) Carrier film: connected to the solder ribbon, directly contacting the battery cell after lamination. In order to prevent the solder ribbon from shifting due to the flow of the adhesive film during the lamination process, resulting in problems such as cold soldering or deformation of the solder ribbon between the solder ribbon and the fine grid, the carrier film is required to have the basic characteristics of high viscosity and low fluidity.

Global key 0BB Film players cover Guangzhou Lushan New Materials Co., Ltd., Firstpvm, Lifecomepc, Sveck, mg-crown, etc.
