Overview

Scope of the Report

Battery solvent is an important component used to dissolve electrolyte or serve as battery electrolyte. Common battery solvents include organic carbonate solvents (such as dimethyl malonate, diethyl carbonate, dimethyl carbonate), carbonate solvents (such as acrylonitrile carbonate, butene nitrile carbonate), thioether solvents (such as carbon disulfide, phosphorus trisulfide), organic acid solvents (such as formic acid, acetic acid), cyanide solvents (such as sodium cyanide, potassium cyanide), and ammonia solvents (such as ammonia water, ammonia gas). Different types of batteries use different solvent formulations, and the correct choice of battery solvent is critical to ensure battery performance, stability and safety.

At present,95% of solvents are mainly carbonates, including dimethyl carbonate (DMC), diethyl carbonate (DEC), ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC), ethylene carbonate (EC), propylene carbonate (PC), etc.. In addition, there are also solvents such as carboxylic acid esters, sulfuric acid esters, fluorine-containing esters, and sulfur-containing esters, but none of them have been widely used.
