Overview
Scope of the Report
The global Coke Dry Quenching Heat Recovery Steam Generator market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1,082 million in 2025 to US$ 1,447 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.3% from 2026 to 2032.
In 2024, global production of CDQ waste heat boilers reached 514 units, with an average selling price of US$2 million per unit.
CDQ waste heat boilers are a type of boiler that recovers waste heat from the coke oven during the coking process. Their core feature is the use of dry cooling (drying or dry quenching) to cool byproducts such as coke oven gas and tar. The recovered high-temperature heat is then used to directly or indirectly generate steam for in-plant heat generation or power generation.
The chemical industry is a pillar of the national economy and plays an irreplaceable role in driving industrialization. However, its high energy consumption and high emissions make it a key area for energy conservation and emission reduction. With the deepening implementation of the "dual carbon" goals, the industry's demand for improved energy efficiency is becoming increasingly urgent. As a highly efficient energy recovery device, CDQ waste heat boilers (WHRBs) exhibit significant application potential in chemical production, providing strong support for improving industry energy efficiency.
CDQ WHRBs are the core equipment in the CDQ technology system. They utilize an inert gas (typically nitrogen) to exchange heat with red coke within a sealed CDQ furnace. After absorbing the heat from the red coke, the hot inert gas enters the WHRB, transferring the heat to the water within the boiler to generate steam. This steam can be used for power generation or as a heat source for chemical production. The cooled inert gas is then recirculated back to the CDQ furnace, forming a closed-loop system. Compared to traditional wet coke quenching, CDQ waste heat boilers offer the advantage of highly efficient recovery of sensible heat from red coke, avoiding the energy waste and environmental pollution associated with wet quenching. Furthermore, the system offers stable operation and strong controllability, ensuring the continuity and stability of heat supply required for chemical production.
As an advanced energy recovery technology, CDQ waste heat boilers are increasingly being used in the chemical industry. By efficiently recovering waste heat from red coke and integrating it with chemical production processes, captive power plants, and other systems, they significantly improve energy efficiency, reduce production costs and pollutant emissions, and enhance the company's sustainable development capabilities. At this critical stage in the chemical industry's transition toward greener and lower-carbon development, CDQ waste heat boilers undoubtedly provide a practical path to improving energy efficiency.
