Overview

Scope of the Report

The global Contactless Vital Signs Monitoring Devices / Systems market size is predicted to grow from US$ 465 million in 2025 to US$ 1,171 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 13.9% from 2026 to 2032.

Contactless Vital Signs Monitoring Devices / Systems refer to productized hardware, software and integrated platforms that capture, analyze, display, alarm and transmit physiological signals such as heart rate, respiratory rate, pulse, body movement, bed presence, sleep status and selected extended health indicators without requiring electrodes, patches, cuffs, finger clips or continuous physical attachment to the human body. The scope is centered on radar / RF sensing, mmWave and UWB radar, camera-based rPPG, under-mattress BCG, piezoelectric or pneumatic sensing, acoustic sensing and multimodal sensing architectures. These systems are deployed across hospital wards, behavioral health facilities, long-term care, home health, remote patient monitoring, sleep management, infant care, chronic respiratory management and in-cabin sensing, where their core value lies in reducing patient burden, improving monitoring adherence and enabling ambient, scalable and workflow-friendly physiological surveillance.

Based on our research, the contactless vital signs monitoring market should be understood as an ambient monitoring category rather than a simple extension of conventional bedside monitors. Its defining feature is the ability to capture physiological signals without sustained physical attachment to the patient. Radar / RF sensing, camera-based rPPG, under-mattress BCG or piezoelectric sensing and multimodal architectures all fall within the relevant technology base, but they address different workflow problems. Radar systems are more attractive where privacy, darkness, non-wearability and continuous room-level sensing matter; video rPPG is better suited to telehealth, mobile screening and software-led deployment; under-mattress systems retain value in hospital beds, sleep monitoring and lower-acuity care. This is why the broad vendor pool is much larger than the revenue-model population: chip suppliers, smart bed brands, infant monitors, automotive radar suppliers and software SDK vendors may all be relevant to the longlist, while the revenue model must focus on productized professional devices, systems, software licenses and appropriately apportioned consumer-health revenues.

Demand growth is driven by several structural forces: nursing labor shortages, aging populations, hospital interest in lower-acuity continuous monitoring, remote patient monitoring, chronic respiratory management, sleep-health awareness and the desire to reduce patient burden from wires and wearables. In hospitals and behavioral health settings, procurement decisions depend heavily on alarm quality, false-positive reduction, privacy, cleaning burden and integration into clinical routines. In long-term care and home settings, the value proposition is more closely tied to night-time monitoring, bed exit, respiratory trends, family visibility and scalable caregiver workflows. Regulatory and privacy requirements will remain a gating factor, particularly for camera-based and AI-based systems. Over the next five to seven years, competition is likely to shift from standalone parameter measurement toward validated, integrated and service-oriented platforms that convert contactless signals into actionable care decisions.
