Overview

Scope of the Report

The global Detachable Insulin Micropump market size is predicted to grow from US$ 817 million in 2025 to US$ 1,511 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.5% from 2026 to 2032.

Global sales of detachable insulin micropumps reached 1,315,000 units in 2025, with an average price of $635 per unit.

A detachable insulin micropump is a wearable, removable miniature infusion device that uses a micro-drive mechanism to continuously or pulsatilely inject insulin subcutaneously from a replaceable reservoir, achieving basal rate plus pre-meal bolus dosing. After use, the pump body can be completely removed for easy replacement of consumables and routine maintenance.

The core consumables of the pump body include a medical-grade PEEK/PC housing, shape memory alloy wire (NiTi) or piezoelectric ceramic sheets, precision gears/lead screws, a silicone check valve, an insulin reservoir, and medical adhesive patches. NiTi wire and piezoelectric ceramics account for 25-30% of the material cost, high-precision gears and lead screws account for 20%, and biocompatible housings and injection-molded parts account for 15%. Electronic components (MCU, Bluetooth, battery, sensors) account for 25%, with the remainder for assembly, testing, and sterilization costs. The machining precision of the shape memory alloy wire and micro-gears is a key variable affecting both cost and yield.
