Overview
Scope of the Report
The global Didecyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride (DDAC) market size is predicted to grow from US$ 281 million in 2025 to US$ 387 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.7% from 2026 to 2032.
Didecyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride (DDAC), CAS number 7173-51-5, is a double long-chain quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant. Its molecular structure contains two decyl hydrophobic chains and one quaternary ammonium cation center, which has good surface activity, adsorption, bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties, emulsifying properties, dispersibility, and formulation compatibility. DDAC is usually supplied in the form of 50%, 70%, 80% aqueous solution or concentrated solution, and is widely used as a disinfectant, industrial water treatment disinfectant, wood preservative, oilfield chemical, public health cleaning and disinfection, livestock breeding disinfection, textile antibacterial finishing, and compound quaternary ammonium salt disinfection system. In 2025, global Didecyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride (DDAC) production reached approximately 68.94 K MT, with an average global market price of around US$ 4,165 per MT.
Didecyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride (DDAC) is a highly efficient quaternary ammonium salt fungicide with mature applications and stable performance. It has both cationic surface activity and broad-spectrum antibacterial function. It can achieve bactericidal, bacteriostatic, algicidal, and anti-corrosion effects by adsorbing on the surface of microbial cells and disrupting the cell membrane structure. Compared with some single chain quaternary ammonium salts, DDAC has stronger hydrophobicity and interfacial adsorption ability, and has wide application value in hard surface disinfection, industrial circulating water treatment, wood preservation, oilfield water injection sterilization, aquaculture environment disinfection, and cleaning disinfection compound products.
DDAC can be used for surface disinfection in hospitals, schools, public facilities, food processing sites, household cleaning, transportation, and animal husbandry environments. It can also be used for sterilization and algae removal in circulating cooling water, papermaking water systems, oilfield produced water, and water injection systems. In the industrial field, DDAC can also be used as an active ingredient in wood preservatives, textile antibacterial finishing agents, mold inhibitors, and compound disinfectants. It can be used in combination with benzalkonium chloride, non-ionic surfactants, alcohols, chelating agents, and corrosion inhibitors to enhance the antibacterial spectrum, stability, wettability, and cleaning performance of the formula.
