Overview
Scope of the Report
The global Glass Fiber Biaxial Fabric market size is predicted to grow from US$ 591 million in 2025 to US$ 926 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.7% from 2026 to 2032.
Glass fiber biaxial fabric is a high-performance composite reinforcement fabric formed by laying glass fiber yarns in two directions (typically 0°/90° or ±45°) and fixing them together using warp knitting or stitch knitting processes. Compared to traditional plain-weave glass fiber cloth, the fibers in biaxially woven fabric maintain a largely straight alignment with less fiber crimp, thus providing higher mechanical properties, better resin wetting, and superior fatigue life. It is one of the most widely used and important reinforcing materials in the modern composite materials field.
The upstream sector mainly includes glass raw materials such as quartz sand, pyrophyllite, and kaolin, as well as suppliers of E-glass fiber, S-glass fiber untwisted rovings, sizing agents, polyester stitch-bonded yarn, and warp knitting equipment. The strength and stability of high-performance glass fiber yarn directly affect the mechanical properties and fatigue life of biaxial fabrics. The midstream sector consists of glass fiber biaxial woven fabric manufacturers. Through warp knitting, stitch-bonding, or non-crimped fabric (NCF) processes, glass fiber yarn is laid and fixed in 0°/90° or ±45° directions to produce biaxially reinforced fabrics of different weights and structural forms, and surface treatments are applied according to the resin system. The downstream sector is widely used in wind turbine blades, ships, automotive lightweighting, rail transportation, pipelines and tanks, building reinforcement, and industrial composite structural components.
In 2025, global sales of glass fiber biaxial fabrics reached 99 million square meters, with a production capacity of approximately 140 million square meters, an average selling price of US$6.1 per square meter, and an average gross profit margin of 20%-30%.
The demand for glass fiber biaxial fabrics primarily comes from wind turbine blades, marine FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) systems, automotive lightweighting, rail transportation, pipelines and storage tanks, and building reinforcement, with wind power currently being the largest application market. With the rapid development of offshore wind power and large-scale wind turbines, blade lengths are continuously increasing, significantly boosting the demand for materials with biaxial load-bearing capacity and high fatigue life, thus driving a sustained increase in the penetration rate of biaxial fabrics. Simultaneously, the markets for composite structural components for new energy vehicles, lightweight industrial equipment, and hydrogen storage composite materials are also driving demand growth. The continued expansion of global new energy installations and the rapid growth of the wind power composite materials market are the core driving forces of the industry.
The industry's technological roadmap is upgrading towards "high strength and high modulus, ultra-wide width, low resin absorption, and automated layup adaptation." Traditional biaxial fiberglass fabrics mainly use E-glass, while in recent years, S-glass, high fatigue life fiberglass, and low dielectric fiberglass materials have seen rapid growth. To adapt to the manufacturing of large wind turbine blades, companies are continuously developing wider, higher basis weight, and low-crimp biaxial fabrics to improve resin delivery efficiency and overall structural strength. Meanwhile, VARTM (Vacuum Assisted Resin Infusion) technology, Automated Ply Lay (AFP), and intelligent warp knitting production technologies are rapidly gaining popularity, thereby improving product consistency and reducing production costs. Multi-layer composite structures and low resin consumption designs are also gradually becoming key technologies in the industry.
