Overview
Scope of the Report
The global Grid-interactive UPS for Data Centers market size is predicted to grow from US$ 669 million in 2025 to US$ 1,015 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.5% from 2026 to 2032.
Grid-interactive UPS for Data Centers refers to UPS systems equipped with lithium-ion batteries, advanced inverters and control software that can protect critical IT loads while also interacting with the grid for peak shaving, demand response, frequency regulation or energy-market participation. Unlike conventional standby UPS assets that remain idle most of the time, grid-interactive UPS turns installed backup power into a flexible energy resource without compromising backup availability when properly controlled. In 2025, Global Grid-interactive UPS for Data Centers sales are estimated at about 1,800 MW, with an average ex-works price of about 380 US$/kW. The value chain runs from IGBT/SiC power devices, lithium battery cells, BMS, capacitors, magnetic components and control software to modular UPS systems, battery cabinets, data-center EPC integrators, colocation operators and hyperscale cloud customers.
The market is being driven by AI data-center power growth, the transition from VRLA to lithium-ion batteries, stricter power-availability requirements, grid-connection constraints and the economic logic of using underutilized UPS batteries for demand management and ancillary services. As more data centers face long grid interconnection queues and higher electricity charges, UPS assets that can support both reliability and energy flexibility are becoming more attractive to hyperscale and colocation operators.

Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
