Overview

Scope of the Report

The global Hydrogen Peroxide market size is predicted to grow from US$ 4,629 million in 2025 to US$ 5,793 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.3% from 2026 to 2032.

Hydrogen peroxide, (H2O2), is a clear, colorless, slightly viscous liquid. It is a green oxidant that decomposes in water and oxygen. It is slightly denser than water, but is miscible with water in all proportions, used principally for bleaching cotton and other textiles and wood pulp, in the manufacture of other chemicals, as a rocket propellant, and for cosmetic and medicinal purposes. Solutions containing more than about 8 percent hydrogen peroxide are corrosive to the skin. Hydrogen peroxide is marketed in the form of aqueous solutions. Major commercial grades are aqueous solutions containing 27.5, 35, 50, 70, or 90 percent hydrogen peroxide and small amounts of stabilizers (often tin salts and phosphates) to suppress decomposition. But in this report, the volume of hydrogen peroxide is calculated in accordance with 100% hydrogen peroxide yield statistics. In 2025, global Hydrogen Peroxide production reached approximately 6694 K MT.

The Hydrogen Peroxide market is mainly driven by its broad use as a clean oxidizing and bleaching agent. In pulp and paper, it supports elemental chlorine-free and totally chlorine-free bleaching processes, while in textiles it is used for bleaching natural and synthetic fibers. Compared with many chlorine-based chemicals, hydrogen peroxide decomposes into water and oxygen, leaving little residue and reducing the environmental burden of downstream wastewater. This makes it attractive in industries facing stricter discharge, bleaching and sustainability requirements.

Another major driver is demand from environmental treatment, healthcare sterilization, food packaging and electronics. Hydrogen peroxide is used in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, advanced oxidation processes, aseptic packaging sterilization, vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization, disinfectants and pharmaceutical cleaning. In electronics, high-purity hydrogen peroxide is used for semiconductor wafer cleaning, etching and surface preparation, where very low impurity levels are required. Growth in semiconductor fabs, high-purity chemical demand and food safety applications is raising the value share of specialty grades.

The market is also supported by chemical synthesis and downstream peroxygen chemistry. Hydrogen peroxide is used in HPPO propylene oxide production, caprolactam-related oxidation, epoxidation, hydrometallurgy, mining and battery-metal processing. As chemical producers seek cleaner oxidation routes and lower by-product processes, hydrogen peroxide is becoming more attractive as an industrial oxidant. At the same time, producers are investing in low-carbon hydrogen peroxide, onsite supply models, high-purity grades and regional capacity expansions to serve pulp, electronics, packaging and chemical customers.
