Overview

Scope of the Report

The global MBS Based Impact Modifier market size is predicted to grow from US$ million in 2025 to US$ million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of %from 2026 to 2032.

MBS impact modifier or named MBS resin is a copolymer of methyl methacrylate, butadiene and styrene. The solubility parameter of MBS is 94-9.5, which is close to PVC, so it has good compatibility with PVC. It has good impact resistance, good tensile strength, elongation at break, good transparency, and the light transmittance is as high as 90%. However, its heat resistance and weather resistance are poor, so it is not suitable for products that are used outdoors for a long time. MBS impact modifier not only has good toughening effect and excellent light transmittance in the production of PVC products, but also improves its processing performance, because MBS interweaves PVC and rubs against each other during the plasticization process, not only It promotes the disintegration of PVC particles and bonds with PVC particles to promote the gelation of PVC. Therefore, the melting time is shortened, the residence time of the material in the extruder is reduced, the decomposition of PVC is prevented, and the processability of PVC is improved.

Global key MBS Based Impact Modifier players cover Arkema, Dow, En-Door Polymer Additives, INEOS Styrolution, Kaneka, etc.
