Overview

Scope of the Report

The global MOCA Curing Agent market size is predicted to grow from US$ 106 million in 2025 to US$ 139 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.0% from 2026 to 2032.

MOCA Curing Agent (4,4'-methylenebis(2-chloroaniline)) is a commonly used aromatic diamine vulcanizing agent, primarily used for crosslinking and curing polyurethane elastomers (especially cast polyurethanes). It imparts excellent mechanical properties, wear resistance, tear resistance, and heat resistance to products, making it widely used in high-intensity, heavy-load environments. Global production in 2024 was estimated to be approximately 39,000 tons, with an average selling price of US$2,750 per ton.

MOCA is a diaminodiphenylmethane derivative, typically synthesized from 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane (DDM) and formaldehyde via the MOCA method. MOCA plays a crucial role in polyurethane elastomers due to its excellent crosslinking and curing properties. However, due to its potential carcinogenicity, regions such as Europe, the United States, and Japan have restricted its use, with a shift towards low- or non-toxic chain extenders as alternatives. However, in China and some emerging markets, MOCA still enjoys significant market demand due to cost and performance limitations.
