Overview
Scope of the Report
The global Pest Monitoring Trap market size is predicted to grow from US$ 146 million in 2025 to US$ 207 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.4% from 2026 to 2032.
Pest Monitoring Trap refers to field- or facility-deployed pest-monitoring equipment used to capture, detect, image or count target pests for pest forecasting, integrated pest management and crop-protection decision-making. The scope includes conventional pest forecast light traps, automatic light traps, pheromone-based monitoring traps, color-based sticky monitoring devices, camera traps, optical insect sensors and connected or AI-enabled pest-monitoring systems. It excludes ordinary consumables such as standalone sticky cards, pheromone lures and replacement trap liners, and excludes insect-killing lamps whose primary purpose is pest suppression rather than monitoring. In 2025, global Pest Monitoring Device sales reached approximately 58,000 Sets, with an average price of 2,450 US$/Set.
The market is supported by the continued construction and replacement of crop-pest surveillance networks, rising requirements for early detection of migratory and invasive pests, expansion of integrated pest management and the need to base pesticide applications on measured pest populations. Automatic drying, rain-insect separation and multi-day sample storage reduce the workload associated with conventional manual traps, while solar power and LED light sources improve deployment in remote areas. The replacement cycle is also being accelerated as older standalone lamps are upgraded to connected or AI-enabled systems, although basic automatic models remain important where budgets, network coverage or local identification practices do not justify high-end equipment.

All MarketResearchReports.com strategic research reports follow a rigorous, multi-stage methodology combining AI-assisted data synthesis with expert analyst validation.
Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
