Overview

Scope of the Report

The global Pimento Oil market size is predicted to grow from US$ 553 million in 2025 to US$ 772 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.0% from 2026 to 2032.

Global sales of Pimento oil reached 37,340 tons in 2025, with an average price of US$15,123 per ton.

Pimento oil is a volatile essential oil extracted from the leaves or semi-ripe fruit of the evergreen tree *Pimenta dioica* (L.) Merr. (also known as Spanish pepper or Jamaican pepper). Its name comes from its aroma, which blends notes of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pepper. This essential oil is a yellow to slightly reddish-yellow liquid, with eugenol (60-80%) as its main active ingredient. It has a mildly spicy aroma and gradually darkens in color during storage.

The supply of raw materials for Pimento oil is highly geographically concentrated, with approximately 70% of the world's high-quality raw materials coming from Jamaica. This reliance on a single source makes the supply chain fragile and prices susceptible to climate and political factors. Raw material costs account for 50-60% of the total cost. Since allspice trees only begin bearing fruit after three years of planting, and the fruit must be harvested before full maturity (when the volatile oil content is highest), raw material acquisition is subject to significant seasonal and time-sensitive constraints. Processing costs account for approximately 30-35%. While steam distillation is a mature process, it is energy-intensive and yields a low rate (only 3-4%). Supercritical fluid extraction, although it can improve quality, requires significant equipment investment. Furthermore, because the eugenol content needs to be ensured to reach a standard of over 60% through GC-MS testing, quality control and testing costs account for approximately 10-15%. Overall, allspice oil is a high-value-added specialty essential oil with strong raw material constraints; its cost structure is significantly affected by fluctuations in international fragrance market prices and climate change.
