Overview

Scope of the Report

The global Reproduced Tungsten Carbide Powder market size is predicted to grow from US$ 100 million in 2025 to US$ 144 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.5% from 2026 to 2032.

Reproduced tungsten carbide powder‌ is tungsten carbide powder recovered from waste chips and used carbide tools through a specific process. The main source of recycled tungsten carbide powder is scrapped tungsten steel cutting tools. After classification, the higher purity tungsten carbide powder is separated through chemical electrolysis. The biggest difference between recycled tungsten carbide and virgin material is that it is easy to get dirty and has uneven particle size. The physical and chemical properties of the product are very different from that of virgin material. In the later production and processing, the wear resistance, hardness and product stability of the product will be affected. The difference is that the advantage is that it is cheap, the disadvantage is that the stability is not good, and the wear resistance and hardness are quite different among high-end products.

The upstream sector primarily consists of a waste cemented carbide recycling system. Sources include machining waste, discarded mining tools, wire drawing dies, and waste materials and powder generated during production. The stability of the recycling channels and the tungsten content of the waste directly determine the upper limit of the recycled powder's quality.

Global sales in 2025 were approximately 716,000 tons, with an average selling price of $258 per ton. The industry's gross profit margin was around 10%.

In 2026, the global tungsten industry is entering a new era of "structural shortages" and "resource value reconstruction." Due to declining grades in primary tungsten ore mining, environmental restrictions, and tightening policies in major producing countries, the price of primary tungsten powder has surged by over 400% in the past 14 months. The industry is rapidly evolving towards "high-ratio blending, full life-cycle recycling, and chemical-grade purification." The supply of primary tungsten concentrate remains tight, while recycling processes (such as zinc smelting) offer significant environmental premiums compared to primary smelting, saving energy and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
