Overview

Scope of the Report

The global Tire Anti-Degradant market size is predicted to grow from US$ 2,328 million in 2025 to US$ 3,289 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.1% from 2026 to 2032.

A tire anti-degradant is a specialty rubber chemical added to tire compounds to protect elastomers from degradation caused by oxygen, ozone, heat, UV exposure, and mechanical fatigue, thereby extending tire service life and maintaining elasticity, tensile strength, and crack resistance. Most tire anti-degradants are amine-based antioxidants and antiozonants (such as p-phenylenediamines, PPDs) or phenolic antioxidants, which function by scavenging free radicals, forming protective surface films, or inhibiting oxidative chain reactions within the rubber matrix. The supply chain begins upstream with petrochemical feedstocks (aniline, phenols, acetone, isopropylbenzene, and specialty intermediates), followed by chemical synthesis and formulation by rubber chemical manufacturers that tailor anti-degradants to specific tire performance requirements. These additives are then sold to tire manufacturers and rubber compounders, where they are blended with natural and synthetic rubber, carbon black, oils, and curatives during compounding, before moving downstream into OEM and replacement tire production for passenger vehicles, trucks, off-road, and specialty tires, with demand closely linked to global tire output and automotive production cycles. In 2025, the global tire anti-degradant market produces about 450,000 tons annually against a capacity of roughly 600,000 tons, with average prices of USD 4,000–6,000 per ton and an industry gross margin of around 30%.

Global key Tire Anti-Degradant players cover LANXESS (Germany), Eastman (USA), Vanderbilt Chemicals (USA), Chemours (USA), Solvay (Belgium), etc.
