Overview

Scope of the Report

The global Wastewater Treatment Agent market size is predicted to grow from US$ million in 2025 to US$ million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of %from 2026 to 2032.

Chemicals used to treat wastewater are called wastewater treatment agents. These chemicals are used to remove pollutants and harmful substances from wastewater, thus achieving the goal of purifying wastewater.

Common wastewater treatment agents include:

Oxidants: Oxidants can oxidize pollutants into compounds that are easier to remove. The most common oxidants are hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate, and ozone.

Flocculants: Flocculants can make suspended solids and particles in wastewater settle down. The most common flocculants are iron hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide, and lime.

Chelating agents: Chelating agents can combine metal ions in wastewater with chelating agents to form chelate complexes, thereby removing metal ions in wastewater. The most common chelating agents are EDTA, DTPA, and oxalic acid.

Biodegradation agents: Biodegradation agents can use microorganisms to degrade organic substances in wastewater. The most common biodegradation agents are aerobic bacteria and anaerobic bacteria.

These treatment agents are usually added to the industrial wastewater treatment system in a certain proportion to ensure the quality and treatment effect of the wastewater. At the same time, these agents need to be treated specifically after use to prevent environmental pollution.

Global key Wastewater Treatment Agent players cover Dexerials, Moresco, BASF SE, Ecolab Inc., Kemira OYJ, etc.
