Overview
Scope of the Report
The global Zinc Sulfate market size is predicted to grow from US$ 644 million in 2025 to US$ 926 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.4% from 2026 to 2032.
Zinc sulfate (chemical formula: ZnSO4) is one of the most important zinc salts; it appears as colorless orthorhombic crystals or a white powder. Its heptahydrate form (ZnSO4·7H2O), commonly known as white vitriol, is a naturally occurring mineral. Zinc sulfate is readily soluble in water—forming an acidic solution—and soluble in glycerol, but insoluble in ethanol. Pure zinc sulfate does not yellow during prolonged storage in air; however, in dry air, it undergoes efflorescence, losing water to form a white powder. It forms various hydrates: the stable hydrate in equilibrium with water is ZnSO4·7H2O between 0°C and 39°C, ZnSO4·6H2O between 39°C and 60°C, and ZnSO4·H2O between 60°C and 100°C. Upon heating to 250°C, the hydrates completely lose their water of crystallization; at 680°C, the compound decomposes into zinc oxysulfate (Zn3O(SO4)2); it decomposes further above 750°C, ultimately breaking down into zinc oxide at approximately 930°C.
In 2025, global Zinc Sulfatesales volume reached approximately 0.91 million tons, with price of 720 US$ per ton.
Agricultural micronutrient demand is the main growth driver. Zinc sulfate is widely used as a zinc fertilizer and micronutrient source to correct zinc-deficient soils, especially in cereal, rice, wheat, corn, pulses, fruit, and vegetable production. Demand is supported by the need to improve crop yield, plant growth, grain quality, and nutrient biofortification.
Soil zinc deficiency and food-security pressure are strengthening long-term consumption. Zinc deficiency is common in calcareous, alkaline, sandy, highly weathered, and intensively cultivated soils, making zinc sulfate a practical input for crop nutrition programs. The zinc sulfate demand is being driven by the need to address zinc-deficient soils and states that zinc deficiency affects nearly half of the world’s cereal-growing regions.
Animal feed is a stable secondary demand segment. Zinc sulfate is used as a feed-grade zinc source in livestock, poultry, aquaculture, and pet nutrition to support growth, immunity, reproduction, skin condition, and enzyme function. Fact.MR identifies animal feed micronutrient supplementation and agricultural fertilizer zinc enrichment as baseline demand drivers for the global zinc sulphate market. Feed-grade zinc sulphate demand is also supported by livestock production expansion and micronutrient fortification requirements.

Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
