Scope of the Report

The global LiDAR-on-Chip market size is predicted to grow from US$ 352 million in 2025 to US$ 934 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 15.2% from 2026 to 2032.

LiDAR-on-Chip (LoC) refers to the integration of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) systems onto a single semiconductor chip, typically using silicon photonics or CMOS-compatible processes. Unlike traditional bulky LiDAR systems that rely on discrete mechanical components and optics, LiDAR-on-Chip devices use miniaturized, solid-state architectures to perform the same functions—emitting laser pulses, detecting reflections, and computing distances—within a much smaller, cost-effective, and power-efficient footprint.

LiDAR-on-Chip (LoC) systems typically operate at wavelengths of 905 nm or 1550 nm, offering detection ranges from 10 to over 300 meters depending on application, with range accuracy as fine as ±2 cm and frame rates between 10 Hz to 30 Hz. Advanced LoC models such as those from Aeva and SiLC can detect velocity directly using FMCW technology and achieve angular resolutions under 0.1°, with point clouds exceeding 1 million points per second. Field of view (FoV) ranges from narrow 30° × 30° for focused detection to wide 120° × 90° for panoramic coverage. Power consumption is typically under 5 W (often below 1 W in miniaturized chips), and packages can be as compact as <1 cm³, making them ideal for embedded applications in automotive ADAS, robotics, and AR/VR devices. Most systems are integrated via CMOS-compatible or photonic IC platforms and comply with Class 1 eye safety standards (IEC 60825-1).

04
Demand Forecasting

CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.

05
Analyst Validation & Quality Assurance

All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
