Overzicht
Scope of the Report
The global Photoresist Stripping Equipment market size is predicted to grow from US$ 750 million in 2025 to US$ 1,200 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.0% from 2026 to 2032.
In 2025, global Photoresist Stripping Equipment production reached approximately 2,253 Units.Prices range from tens of thousands to over a million US dollars.Photoresist Stripping Equipment refers to specialized process tools used in semiconductor wafer fabrication, advanced packaging, MEMS, compound semiconductor, optoelectronic and selected display manufacturing processes to remove photoresist, thick resist, polyimide, residual scum, polymer by-products and organic films after lithography-related downstream steps such as etching, ion implantation, deposition, electroplating, redistribution-layer formation and TSV processing.
Photoresist Stripping Equipment should be understood as a critical surface-preparation and residue-removal node embedded across the lithography, etch, ion implantation, deposition and advanced packaging process flow, rather than as a small subset of general wafer cleaning. Its fundamental value lies in removing photoresist, thick resist, polyimide, scum and polymer residues without damaging underlying films, metals, low-k dielectrics, compound semiconductor materials or advanced packaging structures. As logic, memory, image sensors, power devices and heterogeneous packaging become more complex, wafers experience more lithography-related process loops and more diverse post-patterning residue profiles. The equipment requirement is therefore shifting from generic resist removal toward low-damage, high-selectivity, low-particle, low-contamination and recipe-controlled process capability. In this study, the narrow market scope is limited to equipment used in semiconductor wafers, advanced packaging, MEMS and compound semiconductor manufacturing. Photoresist chemicals, stripping solvents, used equipment trading, service outsourcing and general PCB stripping lines are not included in the core market-size model.
From a supply-structure perspective, the market is characterized by concentrated leadership in dry strip, platform-based competition in wet strip and a broad regional long tail in specialty applications. PSK, Beijing E-Town/Mattson and Lam Research represent major dry strip and plasma strip suppliers with strong installed bases. Tokyo Electron, SCREEN, ACM Research, Lam Research, RENA, AP&S, Modutek and JST are relevant in wet stripping, spray cleaning, batch wet stations and single-wafer wet process platforms. PVA TePla, ULVAC, Samco, YES, Trymax, Trion and Plasma Etch have differentiated positions in microwave plasma ashing, RF/remote plasma, MEMS, compound semiconductor and R&D-to-pilot production environments. In China, NAURA, ACM Research Shanghai, Kingsemi, Beijing E-Town, Systechsemi and SINDIN indicate a widening domestic supply base across 12-inch dry strip, wet PR strip, advanced packaging strip and small-wafer ashing. Although revenue transparency and customer qualification stages vary, China has become one of the most active incremental supply regions.
On the demand side, incremental growth is driven not only by new fab capacity but also by process complexity, material diversity and packaging architecture changes. Advanced logic and DRAM require higher-performance post-etch strip, post-implant strip, descum and low-damage residue removal. 3D NAND structures are increasingly sensitive to residues, particles and high-aspect-ratio pattern effects. Advanced packaging processes such as RDL, bumping, TSV, fan-out, HBM and CoWoS-like architectures create demand for thick-resist, PI, metal lift-off and post-plating PR strip equipment. Compound semiconductor, MEMS, LED and photonics manufacturing adds further diversity because substrates such as SiC, GaN, GaAs, sapphire, glass and lithium niobate have different tolerances for plasma exposure, temperature, wet chemistries and metal contamination. These diverse requirements make it difficult for one universal platform to dominate all use cases, resulting in a market structure where high-end 300mm production tools, advanced packaging wet platforms and specialty tools coexist.
From a technology-roadmap perspective, dry and wet stripping are complementary rather than mutually exclusive. Dry plasma strip is well suited for post-implant strip, descum, surface treatment, low-chemical-consumption process flows and structures that are less compatible with wet chemistries. Wet strip remains important for thick resist, metal lift-off, advanced packaging, post-plating PR removal and certain high-throughput batch processes. Future equipment competition will focus on lower-damage remote plasma sources, more uniform microwave/RF plasma systems, reduced SPM consumption, ozone-water and lower-environmental-impact wet chemistries, hybrid batch-plus-single-wafer platforms, panel-level packaging compatibility, and tighter integration with endpoint control, factory automation and recipe traceability. The competitive metric is shifting from strip rate alone toward total cost of ownership, defectivity, chemical consumption, yield impact and the ability to match customer-specific process windows.

Research Methodology
All MarketResearchReports.com strategic research reports follow a rigorous, multi-stage methodology combining AI-assisted data synthesis with expert analyst validation.
Systematic collection from 500+ verified sources including SEC filings, industry databases (Bloomberg, Statista, OECD), regulatory filings, trade publications, patent databases, and company annual reports. AI-assisted extraction identifies relevant data points across 10,000+ documents per report.
Dual-validation approach: bottom-up sizing aggregates segment-level production, consumption, and trade data; top-down sizing cross-validates against macroeconomic indicators and total addressable market estimates. Discrepancies >5% trigger analyst review.
Company profiles built from public financial disclosures, product launches, M&A activity, job postings (as capability proxies), and supply chain mapping. Market share estimates triangulated across revenue, capacity, and shipment data.
CAGR projections use time-series regression on 5-10 years of historical data, adjusted for identified demand drivers (technology adoption curves, regulatory catalysts, demographic shifts) and demand inhibitors (cost barriers, substitution risk). Scenario modeling covers base, optimistic, and conservative cases.
All quantitative outputs reviewed by a domain-specialist analyst before publication. Data triangulation requires minimum 3 independent sources for every key figure. Reports undergo a structured peer review against our 47-point quality checklist covering methodology, data citations, logical consistency, and formatting standards.
On-demand reports are generated at time of purchase, incorporating the most recent available data. Static reports are republished when underlying market conditions shift by >10% from baseline assumptions. Purchasers receive update notifications for 12 months.
